Turn something awful into something awesome!

Seen something lately that you like that just wasn't your colour? Or maybe you have something you already own that is stained or damaged or just really ugly? Don't throw it away just yet! Why not try giving it a fresh look with some dye or some simple add ons.

Give it a gothic edge by colouring it black and adding some rips, ribbon or lace; or maybe tie dye it with some electric colours and write or draw a motif with neon fabric paint to suit your cyber rave style. The possibilities are endless! The best part is that you will also end up with your own unique item along with the satisfaction that you designed it yourself.

Give it a try! You may be surprised what you come up with!

Here is one of my personal creations from an old handbag I recycled inspired by pikachu!

Boutiques cooking up a storm

Are you looking for something that is fresh and exotic? Are you looking for a new
look or style? Or perhaps, you’re wanting to shops at smaller boutiques but worried
about the cost?

Well I have huge news for you. If you haven’t heard about Latin Clothing Company,
you are missing out big time. You’ll find amazing pieces that'll make you stand out from the rest. This store is just one of the many places that are sizzling. The styles are so unique, versatile
and classically beautiful. Best of all, the girls are so relatable and can give you the
best fashion tips to make you look beautiful. From dresses, skirts, sweaters, play suits
and cute little belts, the Latin Clothing Company is just the beginning to a lifetime of
amazing fashion. Some of my personal favourites are bright, colourful playsuits, anything floral patterned and scoop dresses with the short front and long back. Why don’t you add a black bow or ribbon to one of their Gossip girl inspired dresses to create that classic vintage look? Be quick, these items are selling like hotcakes. These amazing pieces won’t last forever so check out their facebook page or drop by to the Queens Street, Adelaide Street or Browns Plains stores.

By the way, remember my 'Big, Bold and Brave' blog? Well I recently purchased
my first leopard print faux fur jacket, which is a To Die For piece in my wardrobe.
When I saw it, it was love at first sight. I can’t believe I nabbed such a great bargain.
It is a must have piece for the winter season. Mix and match with dark coloured jeans
and a simple tee or pair it up with stockings/ leggings and some cute boots. White fur
coats and vests are also a great look with black leggings and stockings.

To SPLURGE or to SAVE

With winter around the corner, fashion these days has never looked hotter. With shops slashing their prices for sales, there has never been a better time to shop. But I must point out that just because something is $5 doesn’t mean you’re heading for a bargain. They seem cheaper but chances are, it’s most likely going to be a short term investment and you’ll end up buying more. I’m not saying all sale items are pointless and are of poor quality, but it’s safe to say that the price does only play a small part of our shopping experience. I used to believe that a $10 dress was the best bargain found and that was as far to look. It wasn’t until I searched into the $20 racks that the trends really stood out and that my perception of clothes changed. Now I look for things that appeal to me, something that I see myself wearing and not for stored as storage. I did face a price dilemma recently when I had to decide between 2 similar dress- one that was actually double the price of another. It came down to which one I would be likely to wear and not the price, thus splurging on the more expensive dress. Remember to splurge on things that would satisfy your lifestyle and save on items which have a shorter wear life.

Back to Basics

Are you one of these people who have plenty of clothes, yet still wake up every morning asking yourself " what do I wear?" How many fustrating times have you wore the same outfit wishing it could be something else? Well look no further. It's back to basics time.
How about starting with a plain white t-shirt? Cheap, simple and can be worn over a million times. Wear it with a skirt or jeans and don't forget to add a jacket for these cooler month. It also wouldn't hurt to add some colour to spice up the outfit. Add a vest or a long necklace to look fabulous. Remeber that simple accessories like jewellery and beanies can alter outfits without costing hundreds of dollars.
Another basic is the oversized business shirt. Wear 3/4 pants, denim jeans or wear it inside that little black business dress. Add tights for a tunic look and don't forget to add a belt to hide the baggyness. Why not help support a great cause along the way by purchasing it from Witchery. All the proceeds go to support ovarian cancer research. So look fashionable and support a great cause. Remember, use the basics and maybe you'll start your own fashion trend.
